Why Movement for Life?

Unlike physical therapy, Movement for Life-BRAVA creates emotional experiences for the individuals that will encourage ongoing participation.  This approach has also shown positive cognitive behavioral  effects that help help with depression, a condition commonly experienced by PD and MS patients.

In class, teaching artists integrate movement using music, various forms of dance, Yoga and choreographic repertory to engage participant minds and bodies and create an enjoyable, social environment for artistic exploration. Movement for Life – BRAVA encourages family,  friends and caregivers to join along-side our participants.

Diverse group of senior women take dance lessons in exercise studio at senior center. The women have their arms up as they learn the dance. Large bright windows are in the background.
