Movement for Life program was developed by BRAVA, modeled after Mark Morris Dance Group in New York and with guidance from the National Ballet School in Toronto, Canada, to bring an innovative approach for enhancing the lives of those suffering from Parkinson’s disease (PD), Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and similar health conditions in Riverside County and the Southern California region.

The program utilizes Dance for PD® method developed by Mark Morris with the fundamental working principle that professionally-trained dancers are movement experts. Instructors’ knowledge about balance, sequencing, rhythm and aesthetic awareness is useful to persons with PD and MS. In class, teaching artists intergrate movement using music, various forms of dance, yoga and choreographic repertory to engage participants’ minds and bodies and create an enjoyable, social environment for artistic exploration. Movement for Life – BRAVA encourages family, friends and caregivers to join along-side our participants.
